We have been given great power at the Marbella Rugby club to be relatively autonomous and we have access to everything. But with great power, comes great responsibility (Yes I said it, and I am delighted).
On occasion it may fall to you to ensure this checklist of things are complete when leaving the club so please use it as a guide before leaving to ensure we can continue with this great relationship.
- Check are goals are stored and the 2 junior goals are face to face and the senior goals are encapsulating them and also face to face. The chain on them is code 1884 (Year the GAA was founded – learn your history!).
- Turn off all lights in the downstairs changing area in all the rooms and changing rooms.
- Close the double doors (blue gates) to the changing rooms and lock the padlock.
- In the room to the right the keys are hanging on the wall with 2 large wooden pellets. One is green and one is red. the red is for the padlock to the changing rooms. The green is for the door to the kit storage areas.
- Check the cages to ensure we have all our kits and gear stored and that they are locked and secure.
- The code for the first cage is 1884 (grey padlock) and the cage furthest from the door is 188 (black padlock)
- Turn off all the lights for the pitches in the electric box in the storage area to the left of the door.
- Switches to turn off are the mains switches and are number 1-2-3-4 and the blue switch on the second row bottom (thats for the lights on the back pitch)
- Check that the lights are off.
- Lock the door with key with the large wooden green pellet.
- Hang the 2 wooden pellet keys on the hook on the wall inside the door on the left.
- Lock this area door with one of your club allocated keys (see the Costa Gaels Committee if you dont have a set!)
- Upstairs in the outdoor seating area ensure that both the south and north drawback parasols are retracted (the blue horizontal “roofs) and that they are secured with the draw string.
- TIDY UP. Cleanliness is next to godliness and we have to set the proper president for the next group coming in (even if they dont!) and that the area is not littered and looks respectable. If you don’t WE WILL CALL YOU MA and tell her.
- Thats it for the Club House and Changing Room area.
- Then just pull the large double gates shut and secure them with the chain and padlock (it should be on the chain and left open so it should click into place and check the smaller walk in door is shut and secure. If the padlock is shut please just do your best ot secure the door and send a whatsapp to the committee with a photo to show them the craic.
- A final glance around to take note of parked cars of dodgy characters is a good idea.
- Thank you and safe home!
