How to PRO

Clear standards.
Confident voice.

The PRO represents the whole club. Publish with energy, accuracy, fairness and respect.

01

Lead with the useful detail

Tell people what happened—or what they need to do—before adding colour. Dates, times, venue and action should be easy to find.

02

Write like a teammate

Use warm, direct language. Welcome beginners, credit every team and explain Gaelic games terms when the audience may not know them.

03

Show the whole club

Balance men’s, ladies’, children’s, hurling, football, volunteers, culture, community and sponsors across the month.

04

Protect people first

Never publish private contact details, unapproved medical or disciplinary information, or identifiable children without the required consent.

05

Make posts accessible

Use high contrast, captions for video, descriptive alt text, readable type and meaningful link text. Avoid communicating through colour alone.

06

Pause when it is sensitive

Do not argue online. Screenshot and escalate abuse, safeguarding, welfare, legal, disciplinary or reputation issues to the appropriate officer.

The reliable post formula

  1. HookWhat should stop the scroll?
  2. DetailWho, what, where and when?
  3. PeopleWho should be credited or thanked?
  4. ActionWhat should the reader do next?
  5. FinishTags, sponsor, link and final proof.
