Your privacy matters

We use your information responsibly, for clear club purposes, and with respect for your choices.

Privacy policy · Costa Gaels GAA Club · CIF G93388882

Who is responsible?

Costa Gaels GAA Club · CIF G93388882 is responsible for the personal information it collects and uses. The Costa Gaels Committee oversees privacy matters.

Contact us at info@costagaels.com or +34 617 325 727. The Costa Gaels Committee can clarify on request who handles a particular matter and how to contact them.

What we collect and why

We collect only the information needed to run the club responsibly. This may include your name, contact details, date of birth, membership and registration details, payment records, emergency contacts and relevant participation information.

We use it to:

  • Manage membership, player registration and competition eligibility.
  • Organise training, matches, club events and volunteering.
  • Communicate essential club information and respond to enquiries.
  • Record fees and meet our financial and legal responsibilities.
  • Support participant welfare and deal fairly with incidents or concerns.

Information normally comes from you or, where appropriate, your parent or guardian or the sporting bodies involved in your registration. We explain any essential information required; without it, we may be unable to complete registration or arrange participation.

We follow the GDPR and applicable Spanish data-protection law. Necessary membership and event administration is based on our agreement with you. We also use information where required by law or where justified by our legitimate interests in safe, fair club administration, taking your rights into account.

For optional uses, such as promotional messages or identifiable publicity photographs, we ask for clear, separate consent. Saying no will not affect ordinary membership or selection. Joining the club does not give blanket permission for every use of your information.

You can withdraw consent at any time by contacting us. This stops future consent-based use without affecting what was lawfully done before withdrawal.

Who we share information with

We do not sell or rent your personal information, or give membership lists to sponsors or advertisers.

For sporting registration and administration, we share only the necessary information with the recognised bodies involved:

This sharing is limited to relevant membership, player registration, eligibility, competitions and club events. These bodies may also have their own privacy notices.

Within the club, only authorised committee members, coaches and volunteers who need information for their role should access it. Services used to administer registration, payments or communications may process information on our behalf, subject to appropriate privacy and security arrangements.

We do not share information for unrelated purposes without your consent. Necessary registration and administration may rely on the legal grounds explained above. We may also disclose information where legally required or lawfully necessary to protect someone in an emergency.

The Costa Gaels Committee can clarify on request what is shared, with whom and why, including any service providers or safeguards for information handled outside the European Economic Area.

Children, health information and photographs

We take extra care with children’s information and involve parents or guardians where required. Any health information must be limited to what is needed for safe participation and handled confidentially, with explicit consent or another lawful condition.

We seek appropriate consent before using identifiable photographs or videos for club publicity. For children, we involve parents or guardians and respect the child’s wishes. Public website and social-media images can be copied by others; we explain the intended channels before asking for consent.

The Costa Gaels Committee can clarify on request the arrangements for consent, safeguarding and confidential concerns.

How we protect and keep information

We use appropriate security measures, restrict access and expect everyone handling club information to respect confidentiality.

We keep information only for as long as needed for membership, registration, events and related administration. Financial, incident or other records may need to be kept longer to meet legal duties or deal with claims. When no longer needed, information is securely deleted or anonymised.

The Costa Gaels Committee can clarify on request the retention periods and reasons applying to a particular record.

If a data breach occurs, we take action and notify the relevant authority and affected people where the law requires.

Your rights and questions

You can ask to see or correct your information, request deletion or restriction where applicable, object to processing based on legitimate interests, and request a portable copy where the law provides for it. You can stop direct marketing and withdraw optional consent at any time.

Email info@costagaels.com. We normally respond within one month and explain any lawful extension or reason we cannot fulfil a request.

You can also complain directly to Spain’s data-protection authority through the AEPD website.

If anything in this policy is unclear, the Costa Gaels Committee can clarify on request. Raising a concern or exercising your rights will not lead to unfair treatment.

Website and policy updates

Where our website uses optional cookies or similar tracking that requires consent, we ask first and provide a way to change your choice. The Costa Gaels Committee can clarify on request which website services are used and direct you to the relevant cookie information.

We review this policy when our practices change and communicate significant updates. Any new use requiring consent will be explained before it begins.
